Symbian basics: How to hide or show home screen applications on your E72?

Hi there students, today we’re gonna pick up where we left off last time! 🙂

I would like to begin with a quote from A. A. Milne: “Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.

Keeping your room/office/desk organized is the key to your productivity, and I think it’s the same for your mobile phone.

You’re going to learn how to hide annoying/irrelevant apps on your E72’s home screen, or any other E series phone’s screen. It’s a pity this great option isn’t available on N series phones, because sometimes the homescreen is simply crowded.

So, let’s begin. Open Control Panel, and then click on “Settings”.

Now, this is where everybody fails, so pay attention! Click General->Personalisation->Standby mode->Mode settings->Home screen applications, as shown below.

OK, if you managed to keep up, you should be at the following screen:

Uncheck all the apps you don’t want to see on the home screen. I usually hide the following stuff: Voice mail notification, SIM services and email and chat setup wizards, but you can select anything you like.

Now you can enjoy the clear home screen that displays only the stuff you need. 😀
